Now you have reached the southern end of the Bonita Creek Mitigation Site. Built to provide water for agriculture and as to aid in flood control, Bonita Canyon Dam/Reservoir is now largely filled in with sediment. Willow trees now cover the entire reservoir bottom. Though no longer a viable reservoir, it has become a valuable wildlife habitat for species such as the endangered least Bell’s vireo (Vireo bellii).

Congratulations! You did it! You completed the Bonita Creek Virtual Tour!
