University Drive Overpass

Here, Bonita Creek passes under University Drive. This overpass not only permits water to travel downstream without damage to the road, but serves as a way by which wildlife can travel down the creek to Upper Newport Bay without crossing a busy - and potentially dangerous - street. The University Drive bridge keeps the roadway from blocking the wildlife movement corridor that lies underneath.
